Diagnostic Technician

Carry out inspection and service routines
Test, diagnose and repair cars and light commercial vehicles in an efficient, skilful and safe manner
Provide accurate feedback on job sheets in order to process any claims and product invoices
Prepare new and used cars for display or customer delivery (where applicable)
Investigate and diagnose faults, calling on the assistance of the Master Technician as necessary
Assist other technicians in the diagnosis of faults as and when required
Interpret, repair, order instructions and technical instructions and carry out in line with Company and Manufacturer procedures
Carry out any warranty and/or MOT work in line with Manufacturers and Statutory regulations, including completion of all paperwork in an accurate manner
Ensure, through your own actions, a safe and pleasant working environment
Liaise with staff from other departments in a courteous and efficient manner in order to order parts, gain information, etc
Plan work and order parts to ensure the vehicle is ready when promised to the customer, advise the workshop controller/foreman immediately of any possible delays or shortfalls
Attend training courses as requested, in order to keep up to date with all technological and product advances

Qualifications Required

You will need to be an experienced technician with a relevant formal qualification (IMI/City & Guilds or equivalent)
Possess good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and customers accurately and concisely
Customer focused, able to keep customers experience and safety in mind throughout the service or diagnosis and repair
A good team player
Able to work with defined processes and guidelines
Quality focused with first time fix mentality
Honest with high levels of integrity
