Intelligence Investigator

Position: Temporary

  • Providing support on the disruption of organised crime groups and serious organised crime through the efficient management of RIPA applications.
  • Responsible for the review, renewal and cancellation process for all users and conduct authorities
  • Provide early tactical advice and support to investigating officers in order to identify and acquire intelligence to inform evidential plans and bring investigations to positive conclusions.
  • Produce written and verbal reports
  • Gather intelligence from on-line open sources

Qualifications Required

  • Must have knowledge of Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA)
  • Knowledge of the covert area of policing
  • Must have IPP (Intelligence Professionalise Programme) accreditation or willing to gain it.
  • Must have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight time-scales.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel
  • Ability to handle high levels of confidential information and have an excellent understanding of the Data Protection Act
  • Experience of collating, processing and analysing large volumes of complex information, along with report writing is essential
