Our Client is looking for a Payroll & Pensions Officer to deliver a top-notch, efficient, and impactful payroll and pension service! Your expertise will shine as you offer invaluable professional advice and support on a variety of personnel and payroll matters.

Main Responsibilities- 

  • Lead and support organisational, directorate, departmental or team projects ensuring payroll and pension advice is provided to improve the service provision.
  • To participate in the continuous review and maintenance of all payroll control.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed/follow up actions carried out in accordance with relevant timescales and procedures are correctly followed checking exception reports after pay run.
  • To ensure the accuracy of each payroll prior to BACS transmission.
  • Assist in the delivery of the Payroll and Pension service within process, policy and legislation.


  • Experience of public sector pension schemes.
  • Experience of system implementation.
  • Understanding of police officer regulations and police staff terms and conditions.

Pay Rate – £19.17 Per Hour

Hours – Monday-Friday 8-4, 37 hours/week, Hybrid

Proven experience of end-to-end payroll processing, delivering a high quality, customer focused service. Experience of resolving complex payroll issues ensuring compliance with appropriate statutory regulations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work with competing deadlines and deal positively with change.
